Legal Question in Business Law in Illinois
I have a signed contract with a customer. If I email the customer a change order and they reply back via email "approved" do I still need a signature on the contract or would the email hold up in a court?

Any attorney will say the answer depends on what your contract says about the issue, and amendments in general. Normal contract provisions say any change or amendment must be agreed to and signed by the parties. If that's the case, email may work but with an electronic signature. Consult with a good business attorney in your area for specific advice.
