Legal Question in Business Law in Illinois
Can I Sue Individually???
I am the sole shareholder of a WI-based corporation and am putting in a lawsuit against an IL-based corporation. My question is, as the sole officer and share holder am I able to file individually for breach of contract and consumer fraud/deceptive business practices?

Re: Can I Sue Individually???
Depending on the circumstances,if the contract was with your company and the company is still in existence, no. However, if the company assigned the right to sue to you and there is no prohibition in the contract about assignments, yes.
Re: Can I Sue Individually???
The real issue is whether you were a party to the contract personally or whether it was only your corporation. You will need to show that you suffered a harm that was different than the harm suffered by the corporation.
I assume that you want to do this to avoid hiring an attorney. If the Court understands this to be your motive, then you will probably not be allowed to sue individually.
