Legal Question in Business Law in Illinois
Can I sue a website for charging my card after cancellation?
I signed up for a free trial for Cinamuse. I must have missed the small print and they charged my card. OK, my bad. I immediately responded to cancel using the e-mail provided. I received no response. I sent another with the same result. Now here we are a month later and they charged again, causing me to overdraft. What can I do???

Unless the amount is very large, suing the website is not advisable. You should (have) contacted your bank if it's a bank debit card or the issuer of the credit card, protested the charge, asked for immediate voiding of the transaction and credit to your account, citing dates when you canceled the Cinamuse account, etc. The fine print of the Cinamuse agreement likely permits them to take advantage of you and to assess automatic charges.
