Legal Question in Business Law in Illinois
suit after company is out of business
Company went out of business last year. Corporation was dissolved in Nov. As the former registered agent I received a notice of motion for a default judgement on a suit I am not aware of. The attached affidavit of service states the server gave it to an unidentified man at the company that moved into my companys rental space

Re: suit after company is out of business
Obviously, the service was insufficient. I suggest you contact the former company president and at least put him on notice. Even though the company was dissolved in November, it can still be a party to a lawsuit. However, if you were merely the registered agent, it's not your responsibility to sort this out.
