Legal Question in Business Law in Illinois

I own a tattoo business an a car ran through the front window .I rent the business space. Its been over a month the owner of the building has already gotten an insurance check an has still failed to fix the the damage. part of my business is boarded up with plywood.Do i have the right to place the rent in an account like a probate account until he fixes the damage my business has been suffering due to the fact that people think im closed.

compensation regarding rental obligations when such events disrupt the tenant's

use of the premises. Advice: review the lease and act accordingly; notify the

landlord in writing of your concerns and intended action to place rent in escrow

until you receive relief from the damages caused by the auto.
