Legal Question in Business Law in Illinois
During a thunderstorm, lightning struck the chimney of a 2 story building next door to a car lot and the chimney fell on a few cars in the car lot causing property damage for the car dealer. Unfortunately, the building owner's insurance does not cover damage caused by "act of god". Is the car dealer able to sue the building owner personally?

Sure, you can sue anyone for anything. Before going to all that trouble, and possibly not winning that lawsuit, the car dealer should check to see if his or her insurance will cover this loss.
