wage privacy
My employer received income verification papers for my wages I had informed them of possible identity theft and not to release any informtion because i had not authorized but now I am being asked to prove that I did not fill out the authorization by submitting a letter from my childs care child provider and I also believe that my employer gave my information out any way do I have to submit this information and do they have a right to release informtion that I did not authorized?

Hello. Identity theft is a real problem in this country. In fact, I have read that it may be the fastest
growing "white collar crime." If you requested that your employer not release your income information, it should not do so, especially since you expressed your concerns about identity theft. In my opinion, your employer is out of order if it releases this information. It would probably help if a lawyer contacted your employer on your behalf to let them know that you are serious.
