Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Illinois

Appealing a Injunction.

Can I appeal a 4 year, injunction (restraining order) for domestic verbally abuse? Im hoping to appeal the injunction for a shorter injunction, like a year. My ex, girlfriend, have tapes of my voice leaving her bad massages on her voicemail. She's angry because I stop dating her. If I appeal the injunction is, it really worth the time? Thanks!

Re: Appealing a Injunction.

Hello. You can appeal the conviction, but you

must file your notice of appeal within 30 days

of your conviction. If you do not file the

notice of appeal within 30 days of your convic-

tion, your appeal will be barred. Also, hope-

fully there was a court reporter in the courtroom

transcribing your trial. If not, don't bother to

file an appeal because, unless you can get a

bystanders report, the appellate court, by law,

will assume that the trial court acted properly. I will be happy to answer any additional questions that you might have.
