Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Illinois
blocking off alley
We live in a small town in Illinois and the city council agreed to let the neighbors block off part of the public alley. Theres only 3 houses on this block, ours (on corner) and theirs and then their daughters house. The town is allowing them to block it off on ours and their property line down to the end of their daughters property line because they just want grass to grow in the alley so it looks like their yard. We use this alley to pull our boat and camper from our back yard. Is this legal? Thanks

Re: blocking off alley
There are not enough facts here to make a very good comment. However, this sounds like a zoning issue. State, local and municipal governments have the right to restrict use of public access points by zoning or eminent domain.
