Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Illinois
being called a name by the boss
i was off work for a week r/t personal problems and went to pick up my paycheck one day. my boss had some papers for me to fill out and gave them to me. i asked for my paycheck, and he said we needed to talk. i told him i had an appointment in 45 minutes and it would take me 30 minutes to get there and that i just needed my check. he then said to me you dont have to be such a bitch. i then left. and went back two days later to get my schedule and he wanted to know why i wasnt talking to him. i told him because of what he called me. he then said if you wouldnt have been a bitch i wouldnt have called you one. i then told him to take his job and shove it up his ass. i need to know if there is something i can do about his behavior of calling me that or if i am beating a dead dog and should leave it alone. i did not want to quit my job, but i will not work under those conditions.

The federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission [EEOC] is in charge of reviewing complaints such as yours. Their number is in the blue pages of your phone book.

If you wish to pursue it, you have only a short amount of time to file a suit with the EEOC. They will help you fill out the necessary forms.
