Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Illinois
Libel Per Se -
is a letter to the editor with no names given pertaining to legal violations of litigants civil rights - provide sufficient cause to sue the letter writer for libel ?
I was told by a civil attorney that attorneys can easily sue
for damages even if the allegations made against them are true and can be proven in court.

If the readers know and can identify the person referred to, there may be a defamation claim, depending on the language used.
