Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Illinois
noterizing things
My ex wife had a signed paper from me stating that the truck that was in my name would be given to her. It was just a piece of blank paper, honestly to shut her up for awhile. Well when she found out it wouldnt hold up in court her mother went to her step mother who noterizes papers, and they added additional information to the paper and then noterized it. Obviously that is illegal all together because I wasnt there when it happened, but can I fight it? Also is it legal for a family member to noterize something? Wouldn't that be conflicting for the case?

Re: noterizing things
Yes you can fight, especially since there are some issues with the notary lying. Also, the paper may be worthless if it simply says you will give her the car - that would be a gift and thus unenforceable in court.
