Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Illinois
Do I have to pay a civil demand from Micheal Ira Asen from Wall-Mart? I shoplifted about 30$ worth of merchandise from Wall-Mart in Illinois. I went to court already and I was sentenced to 24 hours of community service hours., currently doing them. This was my first time ever having trouble with the law, I'm 18. Know I got a letter from Micheal Ira Asen that I must pay 300$ (Civil Demand) within 10 days or else they will "enforce its rights under the law."

Technically you may be sued under Illinois Law. However it is highly unlikely the law firm will pursue you if you ignore the letter(s).
