Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Illinois
Question about identification
Does anyone who is in the law enforcement field have to idnetify themselves if you ask them? People such as undercover officers. My cousin got arrested for buying a small amount of pot from a guy he asked and the guy said no. Turned out to be a cop. Is this legal? Thanks

Re: Question about identification
This is generally a myth that police officers have to identify themselves if they are undercover. If they are undercover and identified themselves if asked their tenure as narcotics officers would be short lived.
