My rights

I am currently on juvenille parole and am at a group home in Urbana,il. Can I get a discharge so I can live independantly? Also to let you know I am not a DCFS kid. Right now I am technally under the custody of the Illinois Department of Corrections on supervised juvenille parole. My time at the group home is up on June 10,2003 and Iam eligebale for an independant living program but I feel I can make it independantly on my own. Is it possible for me to get a discharge from the program and go live independantly?

Re: My rights

It depends - is it part of your parole condition that you complete this program. It also depends on your current age. You should talk to your attorney regarding your options. And although it may seem like you can get back on your feet alone, these programs are often great for helping you get started and everybody could use a helping hand from time to time.
