Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Illinois

In the state of Illinois, what is the consequence of being caught having sex in a "public" setting? My wife and I want to plan an excursion to our local forest preserve. Although we do not plan on getting caught, we'd like to know the potential fines/jail time.

It is a Class A Misdemeanor, the most serious misdemeanor. The judge is permitted to sentence you and your wife to up to one year in jail and fine each of you $2,500. 730 ILCS 5/5‑4.5‑55. This is the harshest penalty. You can also receive more lenient sentences like supervision or community service.

Additionally, if the local forest preserve is near a school and you perform sexual acts during school hours, you can be convicted of a felony.
