Students Rights
Students at my high school have just found out that the school administration has put together a list of atheletes who they belive drink. I know there are a lot of names on the list but i have not actually seen it but i do know it exists. The school administration does not even know whether or not the student does drink. I have also heard that the principal will be calling some of these students in and asking them questions or interrogating them, and he will be taping the coversation. I was just wanting to know if there is anything illegal going on, and what rights the students do have.

They must notify your parents if they intend to ask you questions related to this. You have a right to not cooperate based on a list they believe is correct.

Students certainly do not have to answer taped questions without their parents' involvement. Any child so questioned should simply refuse to answer any such interrogation until his/her parents are present or notified.
Most students of high school age should be able to do that, even if pressured by administrators.
The school has nothing to gain by intimidating students into pointing the finger at other students.
