Can an employer take your over time away if you take a vacatin day or a sick day even if you worked over eight houra a day?

Yes.
Unless there is a contract in place, you are not enetitled by law to overtime unless you work more than 40 hours in a given work week. How much you work per day does not generally figure into the equation.
For example:
you work 4 days @ 8 hrs, and 1 day @ 9 hrs = 41 hours; OT pay for 1 hr.
you work 4 days @ 10 hrs, and are off sick 1 day = 40 hours; no OT pay.
