Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Illinois

Workplace bullying.

I work in for a small company at a location with just 6 employees. About 7 months ago there was a new manager hired for the location. Since then he has singles out myself and one other employee for constant verbal abuse. It is what I would consider classic workplace bullying. He threatens out job, criticizes our job performance, and uses foul language when addressing us. My question is: What recourse do I have here? Are his actions illegal or just inhumane? Do I have the any basis to sue him in a civil court. He has admitted that he was taken to court for harrassment charges before. I don't want to simply quit, a job that I loved before he was hired, and let him get away with this.

Re: Workplace bullying.

It may be a violation of Title VII and the creation of a hostile work environment. Call the EEOC and ask them for an evaluation of your claim. They will take it from there.
