Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Illinois

I wrote a sexy email to a professor, whom I did not know was married to another (crazy) female professor. She took my email to the head of the college and she is trying to get me kicked out. I am a 38 year old student, and he is around 50. He had no ring, I really didnt know he was married until after I sent the email. Can this woman tell her fellow collegues about this email and students?, can she show it? It is very, very embarrassing. Since the email went to the man's college email, does it not become property of the college then? She wants to ruin my reputation. She refuses to meet with me, I wanted a meeting with the couple and administration. Does she have to meet with me to accuse me of anything? Im thinking she is saying I harassed her husband, who just sits there and does nothing to protect me, a student from her tirade. He showed her the email right after I sent it. It really never crossed my mind he would show such an intimate email to anyone. What are my rights here? I just want it to go away. I have a son who attends the same college, and if he hears of this he will never forgive me. This woman, btw is the self proclaimed religious head of this college, and hosts the "jesus" group on campus, yet she is out to destroy me. HELP!

In Illinois there is recent case law concerning this type of situation. By law, the wife may be prohibited from distributing your email message which was intended by you to be private. This is a very new area of the law. I do not suggests that you meet with her, under any circumstances. You definitely need to retain an attorney to assist you.
