Legal Question in Technology Law in Illinois
Class B Internet License Transfers
My company just recently purchased several Class "B" internet licenses from another company. The InterNic states that we cannot change the name of the company that they are assigned to but we can change the name of the technical contact. What legal issues, if any, may my company encounter with using the license that is in there name. We have the agreements signed of purchasing them., etc.
Thanks

Re: Class B Internet License Transfers
By "internet licenses" do you mean IP addresses, which used to be registered through NSI/InterNIC but are now registered through ARIN? If so, these use licenses for IP blocks are not assignable. Your attempted purchase was void. IP addresses are assigned by ARIN based on need, and are "owned" solely by ARIN. You should request your money back, because you bought nothing. Then contact ARIN (www.arin.net) or your upstream service provider about obtaining IP addresses if you need them.
