Photographs on the internet

I would like to start a webpage with pictures of people and my personal oppinions as to there looks and possibly suggestions on how to improve them. Would it be legal to post the pictures of the people on my website without there consent?

Re: Photographs on the internet

You already know the answer - NO! How would you feel if someone published a picture of you for all the world to see on a web site, which critiqued your appearance and how you might improve it? The tort is called "Invasion of Privacy" (of which there are subcategories). If you commit an unlawful act with a computer system, you may also be subject to violating other laws concerning the unlawful use of computer systems - even your own. If you propose to publish picture of people on the web, the only reasonable course of action for you to pursue would be to obtain a signed release from each such person before you even THINK about publishing their photos.
