can you be convicted of trafficking cannibus if it is not in car with you

Yes - where it is doesn't matter if you are caught selling or using it and the prosecution can prove it and you can't put up a good enough defense. If this is something that's happened to you, you need to see an attorney, because the question may be whether the police had a right to be where they were when they caught you and whether they had the right to search for the drugs where you were.
