Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
accounting error
i was married last month and 3 weeks later, the reception hall called and said they made an accounting error. they say we owe them $990. on our final recept it is marked with a $0 balance. it is itemized showing all the charges and you can see it does not add correctly but it was not caught by anyone till now. we no longer have any money left from the wedding it went to pay off a loan. the hall is pushy and wants us to put it on a credit card right away but we dont have one. is this something we are responsible for, or is it just their mistake and they should learn to be more careful before they call someone with their final total?

Re: accounting error
So by that logic, if there was an "accounting error" and you paid $990 too much, that would be ok with you?
