Auto repair causes damage

I had a water pump replaced in my car and it appears that the mechanic did not properly bleed the car for air bubbles which caused the car to overheat on the highway and fry the engine of my car. He claims no responsibility and changes his story each time I speak with him. I've consulted a few other mechanics who believe that the overheating was caused by an air bubble that resulted from the water pump replacement. It's $4000 for a new engine and I'm stuck with it. What can I do to get compensation?

Get an attorney to write him a letter - it may scare him into paying up. If not, you will have to sue.

It appears you will have to sue him, unless he has insurance and you can convince him to turn the claim over to his carrier. See if he will tell you if he has insurance. If he does send him a letter claiming the damage and request that he turn the matter over to his insurance carrier. Maybe you can settle the claim that way. Otherwise, you will have no choice but to sue him but that doesn't mean you will collect. Good Luck.
