Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
I bought a used 1999 Honda Accord that has ha a recall in 2003 for the ignition switch that causes the car to randomly stall, this is dangerous because it happens while im driving and I lose power steering and my ABS. The recall was done because voltage traveling through the wires cause the wires to short circut, causing the car to stall, at any givin time. The part was originally replaced under the recall in 2003, by the previous owner. I was experiencing the random stalling when I first purchased the car, I took it to a honda dealership, and after inspection they told me the ignition switch is bad, voltage caused wires to almost melt. They replaced the part for the second time under the warrenty. The car was fine for a few weeks, now I am experiencing the same problem again, Honda refuses to do anything except for replace the Ignition switch again, Although it keeps failing. I want to take action, what can I do?
