Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
Car warranty
My transmission went out at 65,000 miles. I called the dealer and a service tech.told that it wasn't covered under warranty. They were all booked up. My transmission locked and I was stranded. After it was repaired I learned that it was covered under the power train warranty up to 120,000 miles. The dealership nor the corporation want to reimburse me. I received incorrect information from the service tech. After taking my car there for 3 years I relied on the service tech. advice. So when he said it wasn't covered under warranty and I couldn't get an appoinment, and it locked up. I took my car somewhere else for service. I want to be reimbursed by the dealerhship or corporation. At least half of the $3500 that I spent. They are offering service credit only, no monetary funds. Do I have any legal recourse?
