Case set on prove up call

I'm the plaintiff and I filed a motion to get the defendant served with an alias summons. His 14 yr old niece recv'd the summons. After filing proof of service, the defendant didn't file an appearance. I checked the status of my case on line, and it reads ''case set on prove up call'' with a date, time & room #. What does this mean? As the plaintiff, am I supposed to appear on this date?

Yes, you should appear for the case. You don't say what type of case this is but if you do not appear your case can be dismissed for want of prosecution. If you appear you should be able to obtain a default judgment against defendant.
