Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
Commercial use of a minor's photograph
This past July I had my 1 year old daughter's portrait taken at a photographer's studio. In August the photographer began using one of her photos in a newspaper advertisement for his studio. I never gave him permission to use her photo in his advertising. The only thing I signed was my credit card receipt when I purchased copies of the photos. What are my rights?

If he didn't get a release from you, he has big problems. You might try politely asking him for compensation, or to stop using the portrait or both, but I would guess you'll need to retain an attorney at some point.
