Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois

contract for orthodontic services

Two members of my family were receiving orthodontic treatment and we were paying monthly payments according to the contract. We moved out of the area and could not continue treatment there. The contract states that he would only charge for services rendered. I have inferred from this that the credit offered against the contract should bare some relationship to the value of the treatment remaining. The credit offered by the Dr. in my opinion based upon consultations with three other Drs. in my new residence is way low. The original Dr. has refused to consider any evidence, has rebuffed my attempts at alternative resolutions and has now sent my account to collections. The disputed amount is less than $5K, so small claims is an option. The contract nowhere states any breakdown to the cost of services.

Re: contract for orthodontic services

You did not ask a question. If the contract does not provide for specific amounts, it likely comes down to the position both sides are taking. If so, there is no obligation of the other party to agree with your analysis.
