contractor not delivering on work

I signed a contract for new windows and the sales person told me the job would be completed in 3 to 6 weeks. The completion date was not stated on the contract just verbal.

After 6 weeks we had not heard anything about our windows so I phoned them. I was told that they had come in the wrong size so they had to resend them.

After 9 weeks, I called again and was told (by the General Manager this time) that 9 weeks was standard for the types of windows we ordered.

After 12 weeks, I called again and was told by the GM that the windows were set to arrive the following day. When I pressed about the delay he told me this time that 12 weeks was standard...

Well, the following day came and went and it's now almost 13 weeks and I still have not heard from this company about my windows.

This is an established, local company. My question is, do I have any legal rights since the completion date was not in the contract and just verbal? Also, without a completion date on a contract, is there a reasonable amount of time implied in a contract for work like this?

You do have legal rights, even if there is not a completion date, the job needs to be completed within a reasonable amount of time. I am not sure what a reasonable amount of time is for windows, but it does not sound like they are being straight with you, so you probably have a valid breach of contract claim, I just recommend consulting with a local attorney about this.
