Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois

credit approved for vehicle

i went into car dealer to buy vehicle and was told i was approved, i also traded in a vehicle, signed contract, 1 month later they still have not paid the traded in vehicle and i get calls from the company, was called in to car dealer last saturday and asked to sign a new contract because the loan company they had originally given my loan to was denied so i signed new contract but the new loan company also denied, what should i do if they already sold my trade-in and ask for the vehicle i purchased back? i was under the impression that i was approved when they checked my credit and accepted my trade-in and i signed the contract 1 month ago. thank you for your help!!--name removed--

Re: credit approved for vehicle

Sounds like the dealership screwed up big time. You never should have been given the car without having a loan in place----that is if you were honest on your loan application. I suggest you retain an attorney to discuss your legal rights and the options you have.
