Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
The dealer did not service my vehicle properly after charging $1400. The problem
My vehicle is a 6 year old car and I gave it for repairs to one of the dealers for the engine was making sound. First time they found nothing but charged $150. Second time they found that it was related with oil leakage in engine and time chain. They repaired it with charging me $1500. Now I am facing same problem and they diagnosed the same thing. Have I any rights to ask them to do it at their expense as the repairs are in warranty period of 1 year? What if they decline to do the work even though in warranty period? What shall I do in those cases? They are asking me to replace the engine altogether. I need your advice on an emergency. Thanks.

It seems from your description that they gave you an express warranty on parts and service for 1 year. Without knowing the exact wording of the warranty it would be difficult to state whether your problem falls within the warranty.
