Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
Dealership Blew Up My, and refuse to pay.
I bought a used car ''As Is'' from a dealership, the car was in great condition, but the delership changed the oil before they gave me the car to take home. Some where along the lines they messed up the oil by adding 5 quarts move than the maximum limit. After nine days of having the car, the engine blew up. The dealership is refusing to pay for the damages. Can I sue for them messing up the engine? The car was fine, but their mechanic who added the oil, is what caused the engine to blow?

Re: Dealership Blew Up My, and refuse to pay.
It might make a difference if you paid for the car and bought it before or after they changed the oil.
Even if the oil was added before you bought it, I believe that you have a case, although I'd have to do a little more research.
You'd also need proof that adding too much oil was the cause of the problem.
