Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
FTC says: The creditor can collect this debt from you without first trying to collect from the borrower." Is this the law in Illinois? I'm a co-signer for a car loan.

Yes, unless your loan agreement says something to the contrary, which is probably does not. Lenders like to keep their options open.
