Gift Certificates
I thought all gift cards/certificates are not allow to have expiration date anymore, is that ture? Also can the merchants deduct money from your gift cards/certificates past the expiration date? Please advise. Thanks.

A new law took effect January 1, which requires gift cards issued after that date to be good for at least five years, and no fees can be assessed. There are limitations, and the rules are different for gift cards issued prior to this year.
