Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
judgement
I recently got a judgement against me for a credit card debt. I am unemployed and do not have a bank account in my name. Can they freeze a bank account in husband's name?

Re: judgement
If the bank account is ONLY in your husband's name, and the credit card was ONLY in your name (your husband was not an authorized signer, etc.), they should not be able to garnish or freeze his account. Doesn't mean they won't try though.
