Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
How do I get my money back?
How do I get my money back?
I deposited a check from my credit union (Bank A) account into a different bank checking account (Bank B) via ATM machine. Bank B claims no check was found in envelope. However Bank A shows the check cleared.
Someone from the bank stole my check and cashed it.
Can I sue the bank and the employee?

If Bank A shows the check cleared then you should ask them for evidence and ask Bank B what its official complaint process is. If Bank B has no process in place to deal with this sort of issue (highly unlikely) or does not want to take you seriously, then you can always file a lawsuit.
