Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
the mortgage company changed a document after the closing date. We checked the accept box for their protection program, their copy has the same computer-generated X in the accept box that ours has, but somehow they also have a hand-written X in the decline box. on their copy, neither selection is crossed out or initialed so as to indicate the correct response. Is there anything i can do? I can't get anyone at the company to talk to me or return my phone calls, Any names they give me are phony.

If you were defrauded by someone changing mortgage documents after closing, you might try contacting the Illinois Attorney General's office.
