Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
Refund
I just received word form the Chicago Better Business Bureau regarding an ongoing case with a Furniture Company in Chicago since May. Three months ago, I had purchased furniture, not only did I not get the merchandise, but the owner refused to give me back the entire amount owed, when I decided to cancel, he then choose to dump the items on my front lawn. He not only became irate but is now taking me to court & is filing a lawsuit for the merchandise that I don't have and the storage fees where he left the items.

Re: Refund
Your options and how to pursue them depend a great deal on where this suit has been filed. Think of it as an opportunity. Wherever the suit has been filed, the merchant has subjected himself to the jurisdiction of the court and is subject to counterclaims.
I suggest that you either resubmit your question with the needed information or call or email so that I can tell you more.
