Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
Refund for services
I brought my pants to the cleaners to get alterations done. 2 pairs of my pants were uneven. One pair was too short and the other pair was too long. I brought the pants back to get fixed and she used a different color fabric for my pants and the other pair of pants that were too long are now too short. I don't want to bring my pants back for a third time for her to mess them up again. I just want what the pants cost me and what I paid to her to fix them. Can I get her to pay me for the cost of the pants an what I paid her and be able to keep my pants?

Re: Refund for services
Unless there was some agreement to the contrary, I would say the dry cleaning company is responsible for the cost of your pants, and they should not charge you for any work which was done unsatisfactorily. If they pay you for the cost of the pants, the pants are theirs. But I have to wonder, why would you want pants that are too short?
