Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
Retail sales
Can a retail store sell an item to a consumer at a different price than is on the price tag. For instance: I have bought two bridesmaid dresses and they charged me over $100.00 for each. When we received them the price tag said $39.99. Don't they have to give us the lower price?

Re: Retail sales
The price on the tag does not necessarily bind the store. The proper analysis is long and boring.
You can go back and suggest that there was a mistake. The tag said $39, you intended to pay $39, they intended to sell for $39, but there was a mistake at the register that nobody noticed.
Good luck
