Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
Sears cleaning company ruined my couch and will pay me what it is worth but they want the couch too. Is that legal?

Sure it is, and unless I am missing something, it sounds fairly reasonable. The couch is ruined, and they are going to pay you what it is worth. You certainly have the right to reject their offer. Look on the bright side, you will not have a ruined couch cluttering up your home.
