Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
Last summer, my uncle gave me his car as a gift because he was getting a new one. He signed over the title to me, and we went to the DMV and got the titles switched and everything done so that the car's fully in my name. It's been registered to me since last summer. He got mad at me over something yesterday and says that he's taking the car back and there's nothing I can say or do to change his mind. Can he legally do this?

No. Once the title was put in your name, you became legal owner. The only way he could get it back is if you were nice enough to sign it over to him, which you do not need to do.

No, a gift that is given does not have to be returned after title is transferred.
