Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
How do I get the title?
I purchased a car from a private part. His bank still held the title for the car. I gave the seller a certified check. I took the car when I gave him the check. The check was written out to the bank who holds the title. The check was paid out two weeks later. It has been two months now and I still have not gotten the title. I tried calling the seller and he won't return my calls. I have a bill of sale and a copy of the check. What do I have to do to get a title?

Re: How do I get the title?
Have you called the bank? If not then you need to call them to make sure that in fact they were holding the title and if so have they released the title. The fact that the seller is not returning your calls makes very concerned that something is not right.
