Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
Unpaid Contractor
We recently had some work done on our home and have not been billed. The craftsmanship is great and the inspector had great things to say about the contractor. I have called once a week for 4 wks (since the date of work) and have not had any returned phone calls. I would like to pay the company for the services the provided but I can't get an answer. What should I do?

Re: Unpaid Contractor
I have to assume that at some point you will receive a bill. Since you have tried to contact the contractor but he does not return your calls I would take the money you owe and keep in your savings account. This way you can pay the bill as soon as it comes to you. Short of that go to the home/business of the contractor and see what is up.
