Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
new vehicle purchased with damaged paint finish
I recently purchased a new vehicle from a new car dealership. After getting the vehicle home I noticed
that the paint was damaged and repaired in 10 different spots on the vehicle. It looked like a rubbing compound was used leaving dull spots in the finish. I took the vehicle back to the dealer and their solution was to buff the entire
vehicle. This process degraded the finish even more. The clear coat that the vehicle was to have on it is rubbed off. I paid for a new vehicle and received a vehicle that had damage covered up. My new vehicle now has a used car finish. If they would have told me that the vehicle had some damage, I would not have bought it. The dealer will not refund the sale or get me a new vehicle. Is there anything I can do about this?
