Bad Credit in Another Country coming to America

Hello,

I think my ex-husband continued to use a joint credit card or in Europe and did not pay on it. Now I received a notice from the Credit Bureau asking for collection here. Can I fight this and can my credit be effected here by something that was done in Europe

If it was a joint credit card, then you will have a hard time fighting collection. You can try to go after your ex-husband, but that will be difficult because he is in Europe. You should make sure that he really is the one that made the charges (and not someone who is not on the card).
