Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

I have a citation to a third party (my bank) to discover assets. They have frozen my acct. My acct. has $498. 00 in it. I have no other assets or income. I am self employed. (realtor) i have not had a closing in months. MY income is not consistent. My total debt is $2000. 00 . What will they do now?

you have the right to assert exemptions of up to $4000 in personal property, which includes your bank account, but you must assert them. you should have received a notice from the creditor about these rights. make sure to get to court on the return date of the citation to assert those rights..
