Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois
i co-signed for my brother to rent a apartment he didnt pay the rent so i was notified to make payments i was told to make a certain amount but i cant afford it is it better off going to court will it go on my credit? why they're not pursuing my brother more will this affect my credit if i needed to move in the future, if decided let go to court!!!

When you "co-sign" you agree to be fully responsible for the obligations contained in the agreement you are signing. Yes, the landlord can sue you, and yes, this could be reflected on your credit report. It is not an "either/or" proposition--the landlord can do both.
